Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing great.

It’s been a hectic couple of weeks as I’ve been rigorously working on the latest update for Desire Dash. There’s quite a bit to talk about, so let’s dive in.

🛑 The Itch.io Situation

As many of you might have heard, Itch.io has recently shadow banned all NSFW games in an instant, due to pressure from their payment processors. This is a huge blow for Desire Dash, as the game had a major presence on the platform (out of all other platforms). Needless to say, this came as a shock and was incredibly demotivating.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time platforms have cracked down on adult content—Patreon also took a similar hit in the past. I took a bit of time off over the weekend to clear my head and process everything.

🧭 Moving Forward: What This Means for Development

On the brighter side, this situation gave me time to reflect on the project’s future. Here are some decisions I’m leaning towards:

• Separate SFW and NSFW content for future projects (e.g. releasing SFW versions with patchable NSFW content).
• Instead of pushing out new content every other month, I’ll shift focus toward creating a more polished, stable build—even if it's not fully complete.
• Steam is the next goal: I plan to prepare Desire Dash for a proper release on Steam. This will require improving all current content before moving on to new features.

So in short: once this current update is out, the next big step will be polishing everything that already exists—making it presentable and release-ready.

🛠️ Current Progress

Here’s what’s done and what’s still in the pipeline:

🔥 Boss Fight (New Mechanic Added!)

• All mechanics complete
• 3 Phases:
  • Phase 1: Basic dodge and hit.
  • Phase 2: Boss becomes tankier with added complexity and a new attack mechanic (Kamehameha-style beam).
  • Phase 3: Even tankier boss, all of Phase 2 mechanics + new platforming element.
• BBBull Beam Animation: In progress

🎞️ New H-Scenes

• Alex defeated:
  • Isabella × Raging Bull — 90% complete
• Alex defeats Raging Bull:
  • Isabella × Alex
• Claire tease animated CG: Work in progress
• Potential additional CGs -only if time allows for added flavor (tentative for now, else will be added in next release)

📅 Release Timeline

I’m aiming to get this update out before August 15th. I know it’s been a while, but I’ll likely need around 2 more weeks to finish and implement everything, along with some testing and polish.

💬 Final Thoughts

I know a lot of people are fighting against this recent change, and I’m hopeful we’ll see a solution soon. Thank you all again for your continued support — it genuinely means a lot and keeps this project going, even through the tough spots.
